High-Velocity 3D Printed Plane
High-Velocity 3D Printed Plane
Lightweight airframe tuned for high-g turns with reinforced stress points and fast-print infill optimized for stiffness where it matters.

I design, tune, and build high-speed 3D printers, embedded hardware, and real-world prototypes—end to end, from CAD to debug logs.
A snapshot of the systems, prototypes, and experiments I’m most proud of.
Lightweight airframe tuned for high-g turns with reinforced stress points and fast-print infill optimized for stiffness where it matters.
Mirrored light cube with ~1000 addressable LEDs, driven by custom animations for smooth gradients and deep “infinite” reflections.
CoreXY printer built for fast, repeatable production runs and high-temp materials—this is the workhorse behind most parts on this page.
Compact in-wall leak detector with low-power radio, antenna-aware PCB layout, and an installer-friendly enclosure for real job sites.
Took a dead kart to ~80 mph by rebuilding the frame, drivetrain, and controls, focusing on reliability, safety, and handling at speed.
I like working where mechanical design, electronics, and software all overlap.
Hey, I’m Sam. I’m a mechanical engineer who spends a lot of time building, tuning, and breaking things on purpose. With almost a decade of 3D printing experience and several years of professional work, I’m comfortable owning the loop from sketch to parametric model to test print to final assembly.
Designed and tuned high-speed FDM systems, custom toolheads, and print profiles for reliable, repeatable results instead of one-off “hero” prints.
Built connected devices with low-power microcontrollers, sub-GHz radios, and custom PCBs, making sure they survive real job sites, not just dev benches.
Short loops: design, print, test, iterate. I care as much about fixtures, jigs, and stress points as I do about the final part.
Have a printer to tune, a device to prototype, or a weird idea to validate? I’m always open to new projects and collaborations.
